Everything here is general information about asbestos and about which companies hold a licence to work with it. It is not a survey, not an assessment of your property, and not advice about your particular situation. Your house, your garage roof and your material have not been seen by anyone.

Where a decision matters, get a qualified person to look at the actual material. That is not a legal formula, it is the honest answer.

We are not an asbestos contractor

• We do not remove asbestos. Not any type, not any quantity.
• We do not survey or test. We cannot tell you what a material is, and nobody can from a photograph.
• We do not quote for work and we do not price other people’s work.
• We do not dispose of anything.

If you have arrived here thinking this is a company that will come and deal with it, it is not. The area pages list the companies that can.

We do not vouch for the companies listed

The listings are the Health and Safety Executive register, reproduced as published. A company appearing on this site means the HSE has licensed it. It does not mean we have worked with it, checked its insurance, inspected its work or formed any view about it at all.

Choosing a contractor is your decision. Get quotes, ask for the licence number, check it, and satisfy yourself before you agree to anything.

Information can go out of date

The register is checked weekly and every area page carries the date it was last checked. Even so, a licence can be granted, varied, suspended or revoked between one check and the next. The HSE register is the authority, not this site, and where the two disagree the HSE is right.

The same applies to anything here about the law and about council disposal services. Rules change. Links to the original sources are provided throughout so you can read the current version rather than our summary of it.

Stop work. Keep people out of the area. Do not clean it up yourself. Contact a licensed contractor or the Health and Safety Executive. Do not wait for a reply to an email from us.
